The 43rd annual Mountain Oyster Feed/Silent Auction/Benefit on March 22, 2007 was an overwhelming success, thanks to the hard work of volunteers and the generous donations of Madison area businesses and attendees. According to the recently completed tally, the charity fundraiser netted a record $6,607 for the Children's Care Hospital and School. This amount was more than $700 above the previous record.
The employees of East River Electric Power Cooperative and the Madison Elks Lodge hosted the benefit. A total of 394 dinners were served, the most in recent years. The generous donations of area merchants and businesses helped to make the event a success -- the Silent Auction brought in $1,771; and the Chinese Auction added $126.
Children's Care Hospital & School provides healthcare & educational services for more than 2,400 children with special needs and their families throughout South Dakota.
