Rud Named Basin Electric Scholar

Madison High School Senior Jeremy Rud is a recipient of a $1,000 Scholarship sponsored by Basin Electric Power Cooperative and East River Electric Power Cooperative.

Jeremy was selected among the applications made through a regional scholarship program for Touchstone Energy^® Cooperatives and was selected on the basis of academic record, potential to succeed, leadership, participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, a statement of education and career goals, an essay question ad an outside appraisal.

Jeremy is the son of Jeff and Jeanne Rud of Madison. Jeff is a power supply specialist at East River’s headquarters in Madison.

Jeremy has achieved a 4.13 grade point average throughout high school and has been active in cross country, track, band, student council, boy scouts, as well as numerous community service-related projects. 

Each year, Basin Electric Power Cooperative, headquartered in Bismarck, N.D., offers scholarships to students who are dependents of employees and consumers of its member cooperative systems. East River, which receives wholesale power from Basin, is a Class A member system and annually selects one scholarship recipient.
